K-9 Veterans Day

March 13thto honor the service and sacrifice of military working dogs (MWDs) and other service dogs, recognizing their crucial roles in national security and aiding people with disabilities, with the date marking when the U.S. Army formed its K-9 Corps in 1942. The day honors these four-legged heroes for their bravery in detection, protection, and support, often alongside human partners, facing risks and sometimes PTSD just like their handlers. https://www.nationaldaycalendar.com/national-day/national-k9-veterans-day-march-13
