• Coast Guard Reserve Birthday

    The U.S. Coast Guard Reserve birthday is February 19, 1941, when Congress passed the Coast Guard Reserve and Auxiliary Act, establishing it as a military component to support the active service, modeled after the Naval Reserve. This Act officially created the military branch, while the civilian volunteers became the Coast Guard Auxiliary.
